Emergency Room

Now normally I go to the emergency room because Antonio burned himself or Marcos drank a Tiki torch, but that was not the case Sunday night. Growing up I've had numerous ear infections and multiple sets of tubes put in my ears with a side order of reconstructive surgery on my left ear. Anyways I currently have what they call T tubes in my ears and my right ear has been giving me lot of problems. I find myself saying "what" a lot. When I was a little girl my mom would drop a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in my ear to get rid of the wax build up. So after a lovely Desperate Housewives we decide to have her drop some in to hopefully help with my hearing. What happens next is some of the most intense pain I have ever felt...

The drop barely even got to my ear and I was in hysterics. The worst part about it is that its in my ear that hurts. If you hurt your ankle you can hold onto it, grin and bare it. But with my ear all I could do was weep and hope to God the pain would stop. My mom tried dumping water in my ear to dilute it (you never put water in an ear that has a tube in it) but I was coherent enough to know what she was doing to stop her. After an hour and a half of laying down trying to drain it all out of my ear I could take it anymore so my mom drove me to Evergreen. Where they did nothing but say "yeah there is definitely an infection and redness in there." But the only good thing was the pain pills. One Vicoden every couple hours kept me asleep. Of course we didn't even get home until 2am so work the next day was in my bed until I got an appointment with my ear, nose and throat specialist. She was very concern and ended up taking my tube out which hurt but nothing like the night before. Immediately the urge to throw up went away but I still couldn't hear out of my right ear.

If you want to know how to pray for me. I have a large hole in my right ear drum, little to no hearing in my right ear and every once in awhile including right now as I type it pops a bunch of times and is quite painful. I need the hole to heal so I can get my hearing back.

Lesson Learned: Never put Hydrogen Peroxide in an ear with a tube in it or you are basically putting it on your ear drum. Normal ears go for it...

Oh my gosh! Courtney that sounds horrible. Are you doing any better now?

Thanks for the update, though it was definitely a painful one to read.
