Happy 8th Birthday Antonio

Today April 29th is Antonio's 8th Birthday. What an extraordinary kid this little 8 year old is. He has an incredible heart for the Lord, loves his family and is always willing to help. Not to mention he has about .5% body fat, NEVER runs out of energy and thinks its hilarious if you fall and hurt yourself (he gets that from his mom). The thing I like most about Antonio is his heart. I remember one time I was really sad and crying on the phone with his mom Erin and when Antonio found out he started crying too. He was so upset that I was hurting the little guy hurt for me. Every time he prays he expects everything he prayed for to happen, never questioning it.
We can all learn a lot from him.

Love you Antonio and don't eat to much sugar today!

PS I picked a dorky looking picture on purpose :) That's what Aunt's are for...

Emergency Room

Now normally I go to the emergency room because Antonio burned himself or Marcos drank a Tiki torch, but that was not the case Sunday night. Growing up I've had numerous ear infections and multiple sets of tubes put in my ears with a side order of reconstructive surgery on my left ear. Anyways I currently have what they call T tubes in my ears and my right ear has been giving me lot of problems. I find myself saying "what" a lot. When I was a little girl my mom would drop a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in my ear to get rid of the wax build up. So after a lovely Desperate Housewives we decide to have her drop some in to hopefully help with my hearing. What happens next is some of the most intense pain I have ever felt...

The drop barely even got to my ear and I was in hysterics. The worst part about it is that its in my ear that hurts. If you hurt your ankle you can hold onto it, grin and bare it. But with my ear all I could do was weep and hope to God the pain would stop. My mom tried dumping water in my ear to dilute it (you never put water in an ear that has a tube in it) but I was coherent enough to know what she was doing to stop her. After an hour and a half of laying down trying to drain it all out of my ear I could take it anymore so my mom drove me to Evergreen. Where they did nothing but say "yeah there is definitely an infection and redness in there." But the only good thing was the pain pills. One Vicoden every couple hours kept me asleep. Of course we didn't even get home until 2am so work the next day was in my bed until I got an appointment with my ear, nose and throat specialist. She was very concern and ended up taking my tube out which hurt but nothing like the night before. Immediately the urge to throw up went away but I still couldn't hear out of my right ear.

If you want to know how to pray for me. I have a large hole in my right ear drum, little to no hearing in my right ear and every once in awhile including right now as I type it pops a bunch of times and is quite painful. I need the hole to heal so I can get my hearing back.

Lesson Learned: Never put Hydrogen Peroxide in an ear with a tube in it or you are basically putting it on your ear drum. Normal ears go for it...

Blogging

I am feeling pressure to update my blog but I really have nothing to say. I feel like blogging is kind of a self centered thing. I'm not sure that many people actually care what I have to say on a weekly basis. But Esther and Jen pressured me into starting a blog because they think mine will be really funny. Which just adds more pressure for my blog to be interesting and funny...

I did however buy Carrie Underwood tickets for September 19th at the Puyallup Fair a few days ago. My friend Deb and I are going to be sitting in row 2! She has never been to the Puyallup Fair isn't that strange? I think I've gained wait just thinking about the Puyallup Fair...isn't that the point of Fairs? To eat your way through them??? Maybe that's just me.

I'd like to say Happy Birthday to Marcos he turned three this last weekend. If anyone is interested in getting him a present he says he would like a sword and a toe. That's right a toe, what a weird child. Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with him.

March Madness

I know I have a lot of friends who don't know what March Madness is so let me explain. It is a college basketball tournament for the National Championship. Basically they go from 64 teams down to 1 in a matter of weeks. What does this mean? I'm sitting in front of my big screen TV for the majority of the next few weeks.

I did think there was a pretty interesting invention that I though I might mention. During March Madness a lot of the rounds are on Thursday and Friday so the NCAA made it so you can stream all the game straight onto your computer for free. (I have a VIP pass so I can get them quicker :) So last Thursday and Friday my production level was at about 4% because I was watching the games all day. I almost fell out of my chair a few times watching buzzer beaters. Anyways all the to say on the screen they stream the games on there is a button called "Boss Button" you click it and the entire screen because a huge spreadsheet! So if you hear your boss or anyone for that matter you can quickly hide the fact that you are indeed not working. If you look closely the spreadsheet is graphs of how much snack food and drinks are consumed during games. I thought it was pretty clever of someone to think of that.

On a side note I'm third in my office pool! GO UNC!!!!!

$9.99 Down the drain

I recently went to "The Hills" to mooch hotel rooms off my good friends Jen and Esther. My mom's only request was that I find Judy Garlands start on the walk of fame and take a picture of it. There are thousands of starts so I pop into a store to buy the book showing you where each and every start is. Esther looked at me in disgust as I bought the book for regular price without trying to bargain a couple extra dollars down...

So I open the book and start walking down Hollywood and as I'm looking at the book I look at the star I was standing on and wouldn't you know. Yep, Judy Garland. I had bought the star map six stars away from the one I was looking for.
